Terms of Service

By accessing or using Xenopic ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the Service. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time, and continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Xenopic is a dynamic banner service for X (formerly Twitter). The Service allows you to create, customize, and automatically update your X profile banner with widgets displaying real-time data such as follower counts, activity stats, GitHub contributions, and other integrations. The Service periodically updates your banner on your behalf using authorized access to your X account.

To use the Service, you must sign in using your X (Twitter) account via OAuth 1.0a. By authenticating, you grant Xenopic the following permissions:

• Read your public profile information (name, bio, profile image, banner)
• Update your profile banner image on your behalf
• Read your follower and following lists for widget display
• Update profile fields (name, bio, location, URL) when you explicitly request a profile restore from a backup

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your X account. Xenopic stores your OAuth credentials in encrypted form and never shares them with third parties. You may revoke access at any time by disconnecting from Xenopic or revoking the app's access from your X account settings.

The Service offers a profile backup feature that captures a snapshot of your current X profile (name, bio, location, website URL, profile image, and banner). This backup is stored securely and can be used to restore your profile to its previous state at any time. By using the restore feature, you authorize Xenopic to update your X profile fields with the backed-up data. Xenopic is not responsible for any changes to your profile that occur between backup and restore.

When you enable automatic banner updates, Xenopic will periodically generate and upload a new banner image to your X profile at the frequency you configure (default: every 5 minutes). You may pause or disable automatic updates at any time from your dashboard. While we strive for reliable service, temporary interruptions may occur and Xenopic is not liable for delays or failures in banner updates.

Xenopic integrates with third-party services including but not limited to GitHub, Stripe, and VeloSano. When you connect these services, you authorize Xenopic to read data from those platforms for display in your banner widgets. Each integration requires separate authorization and can be disconnected independently. Xenopic is not responsible for the availability or accuracy of data provided by third-party services.

Xenopic uses a coin-based system for widget installations. Coins may be obtained through:

• Subscription plans (Pro and Premium tiers) which provide a coin allowance
• Referral bonuses when you invite other users
• Promotional activities

Paid subscriptions are processed through Stripe. You may cancel your subscription at any time. Upon cancellation, your subscription benefits remain active until the end of the current billing period. Refunds are handled in accordance with our refund policy and applicable law.

Xenopic offers a referral program where you can invite others to join. Both the referrer and the referred user may receive bonus coins upon successful signup. Referral codes are unique to each user. Abuse of the referral program, including creating multiple accounts to exploit referral bonuses, is prohibited and may result in account termination and forfeiture of all coins.

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Upload or display content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its servers
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
• Use the Service for any purpose that violates X's Terms of Service
• Create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions or exploit features

The Service, including its design, code, logos, and widget templates, is the property of Xenopic and is protected by intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of your own content (profile data, uploaded images). By using the Service, you grant Xenopic a limited license to process and display your content as necessary to provide the Service.

We collect and store the following data:

• Your X profile information (user ID, username, display name, email if provided, profile image URL)
• OAuth credentials (stored encrypted, used only for authorized API calls)
• Widget configurations and banner settings
• Data from connected third-party services (GitHub activity, Stripe metrics, etc.)
• Profile backups you explicitly create

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. Data is used solely to provide and improve the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time through the Settings page.

You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. Upon deletion, your personal information will be anonymized, your widgets and banner settings will be cleared, and your OAuth credentials will be revoked. Your account record is retained in anonymized form to prevent re-exploitation of referral bonuses. Banner updates will cease immediately upon account deletion.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. Xenopic shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. This includes, but is not limited to, any unintended changes to your X profile, loss of data, or service interruptions. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Xenopic reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We may also update pricing, features, and coin costs. For paid subscribers, we will provide reasonable notice before making changes that materially affect your subscription.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before pursuing formal legal action.
