Account & Data
Everything about your account lives in Settings. This is your control center for backing up your X profile, syncing the live data your widgets display, and managing your privacy. You're always in charge — and you can undo anything at any time.
Read-only, except your banner
Xenopic's access to X is read-only for your profile data, plus the single permission to update your banner image (and, on paid plans, your profile picture and details — only the fields you turn on). It never posts, likes, follows, or DMs on your behalf.
Profile & Backup
Before Xenopic ever touches your banner, it saves a snapshot of your existing X profile so you can roll back.
- Automatic first backup. The first time you sign in, Xenopic captures a backup of your profile in the background — your name, bio, website, location, profile image, and current banner. This happens automatically and doesn't block your login.
- Save or update a backup manually. In Settings, use Save Backup to capture a snapshot, or Update Backup to overwrite an existing one with your current profile. Each backup is timestamped so you always know when it was taken.
- Restore selectively. Open Restore... and tick exactly which fields to push back to X — display name, profile image, bio, website URL, location, and/or banner image. You choose; nothing is restored unless you check it. By default, bio, URL, location, and banner are pre-selected (name and profile image are left off).
- Compare current vs backup. Xenopic can compare your live X profile against your saved backup and flag which fields have changed, so you know exactly what a restore would alter.
- Delete anytime. Remove your backup whenever you like; you can always save a fresh one later.
Restore is precise
A restore only updates the fields you select, and only on X. It never deletes content or affects anything beyond the profile fields you explicitly choose.
Data Sync
Your widgets show real numbers, so Xenopic keeps the underlying data fresh. Most of this is automatic.
- Profile & Reach. Your follower count, tweet count, and reach score are pulled free from your X login and refresh automatically when you visit the site — no extra connection needed.
- Background auto-sync. Connected sources (X activity, followers, GitHub contributions, Stripe revenue, and more) sync on a schedule in the background. You rarely need to do anything.
- Manual sync on demand. Want an immediate refresh? Each connected source has a Sync button in the External Data Sync panel. Manual syncs are rate-limited (a short cooldown) to protect the upstream APIs — X activity has a longer cooldown than the others.
- Connect more sources. Link services like GitHub or Stripe to power widgets such as the GitHub activity graph and Stripe MRR. Connecting Stripe is read-only revenue data — Xenopic never moves money.
Curious how reach is calculated and why it matters for sponsorships? See How Reach Works.
Privacy & your data
- Stored securely. Your X OAuth tokens are stored encrypted, separate from your profile, and are used only to read your data and update your banner/profile when you ask.
- Used only for your widgets. The data Xenopic stores (profile snapshot, activity history, connected-service stats) exists to render your banner. It isn't sold, and it isn't used to post anything.
- Deletable. Your profile backup is yours to delete from Settings at any time. You can also disconnect services and revoke Xenopic's access entirely (below).
- Coins are not cash. Anything you see about coins is build capacity for installing widgets — refundable, never money. Sponsorship earnings are a separate axis paid by verified display time, not clicks. See What Are Coins.
Revoking access & signing out
You can cut Xenopic off from your account two ways, both fully under your control:
- Revoke via X. Go to your X settings → Connected apps, find Xenopic, and click Revoke access. From that moment Xenopic can no longer read your data or update your banner — no further action needed on our side.
- Sign out. Use Log out in Xenopic. This clears your session cookies in the browser and revokes the stored refresh token on our servers, so your session can't be reused.
If you revoke on X
After revoking, Xenopic will lose its connection and may prompt you to reconnect if you return. Your saved backup stays available so you can still restore your original profile if you reconnect.
