Widgets Overview
Widgets are the building blocks of your Xenopic banner. Each one is a small, self-contained component that renders crisp, scalable graphics onto your X (Twitter) profile — follower counts, activity graphs, revenue charts, fundraising goals, custom text, and more — then keeps itself up to date for you automatically.
You add widgets from the Marketplace, arrange them on your canvas in the Banner Builder, and Xenopic re-renders the finished image on a schedule.
Free vs premium widgets
Every widget is either free or premium, and the difference is simple: premium widgets cost coins to install.
- Free widgets install instantly at no cost. Custom Text, Live Timestamp, Logo, and the Open to Work badge are all free.
- Premium widgets have a coin cost shown right on the card. When you install one, that many coins are deducted from your available balance. Uninstall it later and those coins are refunded in full, instantly — nothing is consumed permanently.
Coins are capacity, not cash
Coins measure how much you can build at once, not money you spend. Installing a premium widget locks coins; uninstalling returns them. Your plan sets your allowance — Free 50, Pro 500, Premium 1500 — so a bigger plan simply lets you run more widgets at the same time. See What are coins? for the full model.
Because the cost is a hold rather than a purchase, you can experiment freely: try a premium widget, see how it looks, and uninstall it to reclaim every coin if it's not for you.
Categories
Widgets are grouped into categories so you can find the right one fast:
| Category | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Analytics | Live data — follower count, activity graphs, Stripe MRR, gauges, donut charts |
| Social | Profile rings, an "Open to Work" badge, and other identity touches |
| Fundraising | Goal trackers like progress bars and donut/gauge meters |
| Decorative | Backgrounds, aura effects, moon phase, and other visual flourishes |
| Utility | Custom text, live timestamps, QR codes, and progress indicators |
| Sponsorship | Earn cash by displaying an advertiser's ad — see Earnings |
Sponsorship widgets are special: they cost zero coins and instead earn you cash for the time an ad is shown. They live in their own section of the Marketplace.
Flagship data widgets
A few analytics widgets pull live numbers from the services you already use. Each has its own guide:
- Stripe MRR — show your live monthly recurring revenue. See Stripe MRR widget.
- GitHub Activity — render your contribution graph on your banner. See GitHub Activity widget.
- 𝕏 Activity Graph — visualize your recent posting cadence, refreshed automatically.
Goal and fundraising widgets — the Progress Bar, Progress Ring, Gauge, and Donut Chart — are great for tracking a target: bind them to a live number (or set one manually) and they fill as you approach your goal.
Installing and removing widgets
The Marketplace has full search, filtering, and sort so you can pin down exactly what you want:
- Search by name, description, or tag.
- Filter by category, by where it appears (your banner, profile picture, or profile details), by pricing (free, paid, or earn), or show featured widgets only.
- Sort by default order or by price, low to high or high to low.
- Open a widget card to preview it and read the details.
- Click Install. Free widgets appear immediately; premium widgets deduct their coin cost first.
- Position and style it in the Banner Builder.
- To remove it, click Uninstall — any coins it held are refunded right away.
One per section
You can keep one instance of a given widget per canvas section. That keeps your banner clean and predictable. Want the same data in two places? Use a different widget or a different section. Sponsorships go one step further — only one ad shows on your banner at a time, so adding a new one replaces the old.
Your installs travel with you everywhere — when Xenopic re-renders your banner, it reads your data read-only and updates only the banner image. It never posts on your behalf.
