The Banner Builder

The Banner Builder is the drag-and-drop editor at the heart of your dashboard. It's where you compose a live, auto-updating banner from widgets, set a background, and fine-tune exactly how everything sits on your X profile. Everything you place is previewed on a real-size canvas before it's ever pushed to X.

A real 1500x500 canvas

X profile banners are exactly 1500x500 pixels, and the builder canvas matches that size precisely. The live preview scales to fit your screen, but the proportions are locked to a 3:1 banner so what you arrange is what your followers will see.

Each widget on the canvas is positioned by percentage, not fixed pixels. A widget sits at an x / y coordinate from 0–100, where 50, 50 is dead center. Because positions are relative, your layout stays consistent regardless of how the preview is scaled on your device.

Widgets are also scaled about their center. When you increase a widget's scale, it grows outward in every direction from its midpoint, so its anchor position doesn't drift — handy for nudging size without re-aligning everything around it.

Read-only by design

The builder only ever updates your banner image (and, on paid plans, your avatar and profile details). Xenopic's X access is read-only otherwise — it never posts, follows, or messages on your behalf.

Three independent sections

Your profile is more than just the banner, so the builder gives you three separate sections you can edit and update independently:

  1. Profile Banner — the main 1500x500 image. Free for everyone and enabled by default.
  2. Profile Image — your avatar (profile picture).
  3. Profile Details — the area beneath your avatar.

Switch between them using the section tabs at the top of the widget panel. Each section has its own widgets, its own enable switch, and its own update mode, so turning one off never touches the others — your saved layout returns intact when you re-enable it.

Customizing the Profile Image and Profile Details sections is a Pro feature. The Profile Banner is always free to build and update. See Plans & billing for what each tier unlocks.

Placing and arranging widgets

To add something, open the Marketplace, install a widget, and it appears in the panel for the active section. From there you can:

  • Tap a widget row to open its settings (position, scale, and any widget-specific options).
  • Toggle visibility with the switch to show or hide it on the canvas without uninstalling.
  • Drag rows to reorder them — the top of the list is the front layer, the bottom is the back. This controls which widgets sit above others where they overlap.

Each row shows the widget's coin cost. Most widgets cost coins as build capacity while installed; uninstalling refunds them.

Coins are capacity, not cash

Coins measure how much you can build, not money. They're fully refundable when you uninstall a widget, and your plan sets your allowance — Free 50, Pro 500, Premium 1500. Coins are never charged to a card and never paid out.

The custom background (free)

The Custom Background widget is free and fills the entire canvas. It offers three modes:

ModeWhat it does
Solid ColorA single flat color behind your widgets.
GradientA two-color blend with an adjustable angle (0–360°).
ImageA predefined background, or your own uploaded image.

Because it covers the whole 1500x500 area, the background ignores position and scale controls — it always fills the canvas as the bottom layer for everything else you place on top.

See it before X does

Nothing reaches your profile until you decide. Edits save to your layout first and preview on the canvas; the section is only pushed to X when you apply it or when auto-updates run. That keeps the builder a safe place to experiment.
